AFTERPARTY

Just met with some people last night and ironed out the details of the afterparty location, seems like a really cool space. There will most likely be a DJ and band(s) in the basement and the awards ceremony/ hangin out upstairs. Anyone who races will get in free, but people who did not race will need to give a $5 donation to Tenderbridge (www.tenderbridge.org) to get in. Again, the party is all you can drink!

Anyone who has a band and wants to play the afterparty let me know via email. We cant pay you, but youll of course race/party for free.

race specifics

Just a quick post about the format of the race:

race starts at 2:00-2:30, the after-party(and the finish) will happen three hours after the race starts. You have until then to hand in your manifest. You can do as many or as few checkpoints as you can/wish to, but some will be required in order to be considered for the grand prizes. Also, some checkpoints will only be open for certain periods of time. Each checkpoint is worth a certain amount of points, as are extra tasks. Many checkpoints will have a sliding scale of points based on creativeness/ability to complete the task. There will also be points given out for the order in which you arrive at the finish. There will be many prizes being given out, with the top 20 being given something substantial. We are encouraging people having fun over competitiveness and will be awarding extra points accordingly. It will almost be more of a scavenger hunt than an all out race as you can do the checkpoints in any order you wish.

Additionally, there will be one FAR AWAY checkpoint that is a mini road-race in itself. This will not only be worth a huge amount of points to anyone who makes it there and lives to tell the tale, but the first person to successfully complete the riddle encased thereupon will receive a major prize.
